INSIGHTS FROM THE 22ND ON-SITE ISLAND FORUM ON JODO AND HODO ISLAND
The 22nd On-site Island Forum took place in Jodo and Hodo Islands, Namhae County. Despite the increased number of visitors drawn in by the opening of 'Seom Baraegil,' an old island trail, the island residents expressed a low level of satisfaction on the feeling thermometer. One contributing factor is the absence of licensed restaurants on the island. Additionally, the walking trail course is relatively short, lasting only 1-2 hours, leading to the perception of the island as merely a transit point. Furthermore, the passenger boat's capacity is limited to 30 people, significantly below the number of tourists visiting the island. This mismatch between capacity and demand poses inconveniences for both the island residents and visitors.
